The story behind the feature
Fresh Cars grew from a small Kaki Bukit fleet in 2016 to more than 1,000 active drivers, most of them private hire drivers who rent a car by the week or month to earn on Grab, Gojek, Tada and Ryde, plus corporate customers who lease cars for staff on all-inclusive monthly terms. What a rental company has to get right for those drivers is what the segment is really about: a car that is LTA-registered for private hire, commercial insurance, fast replacement when a car goes into the workshop, and pricing that leaves room for the driver to earn.

How Fresh Cars serves PHV drivers today
A PHV driver renting from Fresh Cars pays from $420/week or $1,700/month for a sedan such as the Toyota Altis or Mazda 3, or from $511/week for a hybrid. Commercial insurance, road tax, servicing, unlimited mileage and a four-hour replacement guarantee are included; fuel and ERP are the only costs on top. Drivers can start weekly and switch to monthly at any time without penalty.
To rent you need a valid PDVL, a Class 3 or 3A licence, your NRIC or FIN, and a card for the deposit. Existing PDVL holders are usually approved and on the road the same day.
Corporate and leasing customers
The same fleet is available to businesses on all-inclusive monthly leases from $1,700/month, with a dedicated account manager and terms of one to twelve months. Companies use it for sales staff, project vehicles and replacement cars without taking on COE or depreciation risk.
